World Of Plants, Gardens By The Bay

Organised by WMG Pte Ltd, the Green Carpet Awards 2013 (GCA) is an annual, year-long community project that aims to re-educate Singaporeans about the importance of conservation and appreciation of nature. With increasingly indifferent attitudes by the public towards nature and greener lifestyles, this community initiative lobbies to change the public’s perspectives and attitudes, with students reversing social roles to lead the community with their unique perspectives on being green-conscious via various mediums like photography, writing and public speaking. Following the awards ceremony held at the Nanyang Polytechnic and graced by Mr Teo Ser Luck, Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry, works by the student nominees were exhibited at at The Canopy, Gardens By The Bay on 13 and 14 July 2013. Members of the public were also led on an Adventure Trail around the Secret Life of Trees at the World of Plants, Gardens By The Bay.
